-Participant of Small Church Pastors Retreat

A retreat for pastors of small churches. Come out to Mo and build connections while doing fun recreational activities and worship!

The Small Church Pastor’s Retreat at Mo-Ranch provides clergy who shepherd small flocks with opportunities for study, reflection and recreation. This retreat allows pastors to step away from the myriad demands upon them and experience renewal in their ministry.

Anyone who is a pastor of a small church – teaching elders, commissioned ruling elders, stated supply pastors, even student pastors – this retreat is for you!

Rev. Mark Plunkett – Pastor, Spring Branch Presbyterian Church, Houston, Texas.  Mark was born and raised in Austin, Texas where he lived until age 13.  After several years of living in various locations around Texas and Tennessee, Mark returned to Austin to attend the University of Texas in 1976.  Upon graduation, Mark worked as an elementary school teacher in Austin.  Mark and his wife, Jeanne moved to Houston in 1982, where he worked as an elementary and middle school teacher in Spring Branch until his retirement in 2009.  During those years, Mark was active as an elder on sessions at both St. Giles and Spring Branch Presbyterian Churches, as well as serving as a pulpit supply preacher.  After many years of preaching, Mark felt the call to full-time ministry.  He attended Austin Seminary’s Houston Extension Program and later graduated from Princeton Seminary in 2011.  After this, he and Jeanne returned home to Houston.  Mark was called as the pastor for Heritage Presbyterian Church/Cypress, where he served from July, 2011 until recently; Mark has been called to be the senior co-pastor of Spring Branch PC beginning September 2023.  He and Jeanne have two grown children, Daniel and Megan, as well as children-in-law and three grandchildren.
