All conference leadership positions are by Mo-Ranch invitation only and must be approved by the Programs Team before an official offer is extended. Mo-Ranch reserves the right to cancel a Mo-Ranch sponsored conference at any given time. This ministry summary is provided to help you understand your agreed upon role.
Small group times are where much of the theme development and conference discussion takes place. A meaningful and well-prepared small group experience is crucial to the success of this event.
Responsibilities:
       • Facilitate a group of approximately 12-18 conference participants.
       • Foster an open, nurturing, respectful environment/small group experience for participants.
Before the conference:
      • Complete all required paperwork, trainings and background check four weeks prior to arrival.
      • Attend the pre-conference training time before the conference as dated on your leadership agreement.
      • Review the small group manual in advance of the conference; have a solid understanding of the material and bring questions to the pre-conference SGL training.
      • Pray regularly for the conference: for its leadership, participants and program.
      • Help the conference and its leadership live into the Mo-Ranch mission statement.
During the conference:
      • Live by and help others live by the Youth Conference Leadership Covenant of Conduct.
      • Lead conference participants through small group times.
      • Participate fully in all conference activities to serve as an example to participants.
      • Help your small group to prepare skits, crafts or any other items in accordance with the small group manual and/or to be shared with whole conference.
      • Turn off lights when away, return small group supplies to primary locations, and pick-up surrounding trash before leaving small group areas daily.
      • Be with and monitor your small groups at worship, meals and other times as designated by the schedule.
      • See that you and all participants in your small group complete conference evaluations at the end of the conference in a relaxed but timely manner. Encourage all to answer questions intentionally.
      • Be willing and available to assist in other areas of the conference including:
                  o Registration, opening events, energizers, crowd control.
                  o Set-up/take-down of equipment for events.
                  o Covenant Accountability Team (CAT patrol) nightly rounds.
Closing day/After the conference:
      • See that all small group supplies are returned to their designated spots prior to leaving Mo-Ranch.
      • Attend the post-conference meeting with Mo-Ranch Programs staff, conference director and other leadership before leaving the conference (or at a later date by zoom).
                 o Use this opportunity to provide appropriate feedback, constructive criticism and reflection.
      • Submit a travel reimbursement form.

      • Refer to leadership agreement.
