Mind/Body/Spirit Yoga Retreat: Seeing God in All Things

October 4-6, 2019

Yoga helps connect your mind and body together to engage with your spirit in a worshipful way.  Each moment in life becomes an opportunity to connect to God and the presence of the Holy Spirit. This mind/body/spirit yoga retreat is designed with everyone in mind for stress reduction, heart health, mind/body/spirit connection and relaxation.  We will set our intentions with a pre-pose reading, and then gently move our bodies into poses that create ease within our body and soul.  Each session will end with guided meditation and contemplation. Please plan to bring a yoga mat if you have one, as well as comfortable clothes in which to move.

All levels are welcome!

Jessica Goulding, E-RYT 500, CIAYT, YACEP, or Jess G, grew up in Houston, TX and was introduced to yoga as part of her dance training in 1990. Jess attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance. After graduating, she moved to New York City to dance professionally and continued to study yoga. In 2004, she became a certified yoga instructor through the teacher training program at Yoga Mandali studio in New York and studied under certified Anusara teacher, Lisa Keays.

While in New York City, Jess taught at Yoga Mandali studio and World Yoga center as well as Ballet Academy East and the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Jess’s most influential teachers include Christina Sell, John Friend, Sally Kempton, Lisa Keays, Bindu Wiles and Jackie Prete.

Jess and her husband, Nick, moved to Austin, TX in 2004, and they quickly started a family. Jessica completed her post-natal yoga training at Yoga Yoga studio with Leslie Lytle in 2005. Since then, Jess has fine-tuned her skills at teaching post-natal yoga, studied the benefits of yoga for the post-natal body and experienced parenting’s many challenges. For several years, she was a contributing writer for “Staying Connected”, Yoga Yoga’s family yoga newsletter, with her popular “Mama Mantra” series.

She has also created and developed the crawlers and toddlers class at Yoga Yoga studio in response to student requests to incorporate their moving babies into their daily yoga practices. Jess and some of her crawler and toddlers class attendees have even staged a post-natal yoga flash mob at Whole Food grocery store!

In May 2010, Jess achieved Anusara yoga certification. She resigned from the organization in October 2012 but continues to grow as a teacher of her own accord. Jess’s teachings are rooted in classical Iyengar and Anusara yoga, and she incorporates more elements of her own life, talents, beliefs and experiences into her classes.

Outside of the studio, Jess and Nick own south Austin’s Cafe Malta. You will find her there on the first Tuesday of every month for their popular event, Tour de Forks. Jess acts as hostess and enjoys getting to know the restaurant’s regular clients. Most of her time is spent as a mother to her two tweens and managing her family’s home life. She also enjoys swimming, water skiing, boating and hanging out by a lake. She is committed to chips & salsa, her girlfriends and having a good dance partner!
