 John Brantley
John Brantley
Rev. John Brantley will be celebrating his 19th ordination anniversary in October. His ministry has been to small churches. He has served congregations from the panhandle to gulf coast, building relationships between congregations and the communities they serve through ecumenical endeavors, and serving as chaplain for First Responders.
John has served in his current context since 2012. St. Andrew in Marble Falls is a congregation of transition. Made up of only first-generation members, the church serves as a way point for people who are newly retired. Over the last decade John has worked to identify the radical hospitality of St. Andrew and leverage it in a way that gives space for Spirit to move in and through a dynamic and evolving Marble Falls.
He has been married to his wife Tiffany for 23 years and they have two boys, one attending UT Mccomb Business School in Austin, and the other will be a junior at Marble Falls High School.

Dan Milford (pronouns he/him) is grateful that the Good News of God’s love and grace is for all people. Communicating that reality, particularly to people who have historically been made to feel unwelcome in the church, is important to Dan. He aspires to fully welcome people with mental health concerns, those who are from other cultures or countries, those who identify as LGBTQ+, and anyone else who has felt alienated or disillusioned with the church.
Dan began as the pastor of Covenant Presbyterian in May 2011. Previously, he had served as Associate Pastor at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church in Chapin, SC for five years and then as pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Sand Springs, OK for twelve years. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA (Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry).
Dan is happily married to Nadia Rosales, his wife of 31 years, and the proud father of their three children—Austin, Joshua, and Alexis—who are all in their mid-20’s. They enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and other outdoor activities as a family when they are together.
A favorite part of ministry for Dan is teaching confirmation classes, adult newcomer classes, and talking with anyone who is seeking to grow in faith or who is simply curious about the claims of Christianity. He enjoys science and helping people discover ways in which science and faith can be in productive dialogue. In ministry, he is also drawn to any activity that allows him to join with others in putting Christian faith into action in service or witness.
Mental health ministry became a passion for Dan about eight years ago. The “Beautiful Minds: A Mental Health Ministry” leads the effort at Covenant, and Dan worked for many years on creating a nationwide emphasis on mental health in the Presbyterian Church. He and Covenant are grateful to have the opportunity to learn from peers, families, professionals, and other congregations to grow in the ability to integrate mental health ministry into their congregational life. This work in mental health ministry led Columbia Theological Seminary to present Dan with its Distinguished Service Award in February of 2020, a witness to the yearning within the church for growth in this area of ministry and to the dedication of the “Beautiful Minds Coalition” at Covenant.

I was born and raised in Cibolo, TX, just south of San Marcos. After high school, I went to Austin College, in Sherman, TX because they said they would let me play soccer. While there, I met a girl, and I never looked back. We got married, attended Seminary together at Princeton, and spent 8 years together in ministry in Huntington, WV. We have 4 West Virginian children and we wouldn’t have it any other way (unless we could have found someway to have them born in Texas).
Living in San Marcos has been a blessing as we seek to serve the Lord. I am passionate about anything that involves sports, the Dallas Cowboys, the San Antonio Spurs, Dr. Pepper, and smoked meat.
I grew up in Texas and New Mexico, the middle child of a 6th-generation pastor. I briefly bucked the family ministry tradition by earning a Master’s Degree in Education at Austin College and teaching school in inner-city Dallas for 2 years. However, I also did mission work in Malawi, Africa and served churches in Texas and Oklahoma before ultimately heading to seminary in Princeton, New Jersey.
Ordained pastoral ministry led me first to Huntington, West Virginia and then here to San Marcos, Texas. For the last 23 years of this adventure, I’ve been accompanied by my husband, Joshua, and we are thrilled (frazzled/daunted/amused) to be the parents of Serena, Asher, Josiah, and Micah.
Our life is filled with laughter and laundry, and I don’t have much time for hobbies, but love reading a suspenseful novel, writing, travelling, and good tortillas.
