Leadership Development Programs

Mo-Ranch Summer Camps offer two different Leadership Development Programs for our campers that have aged out of our Summer Camp Programming; the Leaders in Training (L.I.T.) & Counselors in Training (C.I.T.) Programs.

The L.I.T. and C.I.T. programs are three-week intensive leadership programs designed in a way for past Mo-Ranch campers to grow in leadership, spirituality and confidence. These programs go far beyond what it takes to be a great camp counselor, and instead focuses on what it takes to be a GREAT person.

We raise the expectation level of what 16 and 17-year-old’s can and should do and we challenge them in ways that will benefit them for decades to come. If you are looking for more than just your average leadership program, these programs will be perfect for you!

Eligibility Requirements

Leaders in Training (L.I.T.):

Campers must be 16 by June 1  of the year attending the program.

Each camper must have three character references from a non-family member, such as a teacher, coach, youth pastor, mentor, etc.

 Counselors in Training (C.I.T.):

Campers must be 17 by June 1 of the year attending the program and must have completed the LIT Program or equivalent. Campers may not participate in the LDP program once they have reached the age of 18.

Each camper must have three character references from a non-family member, such as a teacher, coach, youth pastor, mentor, etc.

What is the difference between L.I.T and C.I.T?

As a L.I.T. camper, you help out at camp by serving meals, distributing snacks and sorting mail.

You work with the Leadership Development Program coordinator and head counselors to determine your skills, talk about faith and learn about servant leadership. When you finish your LIT session, the LDP coordinator reviews your performance to recommend you for CIT Program the following year.

In this next step you will learn to shadow counselors and focus on the principles and foundations of what it takes to be a Mo-Ranch Summer Camp Counselor through assisting staff in hands-on activities, Bible studies, group management, mentorship and programming. If you are ready to experience camp in a different way, apply for an LDP position.

All forms can be found on the CampMinder Registration Platform under the Forms Dashboard.  Please be sure to complete all forms by May 1 of your camper’s attending year, as there are limited spots available for these Leadership Development Programs.
