Bird Watching in the Texas Hill Country

Bird Watching at Mo-Ranch

Mo-Ranch is a prime location for birding in the Texas Hill Country to observe your feathered friends!

Scenic birding, seating, and meditation areas are found all throughout the ranch. Recently we’ve added new prime birding areas, strategically located near water and feeding resources. These locations include a newly constructed birding blind overlooking a spring feeding into the Guadalupe River and an additional birding area in the Holm Family Wildflower and Native Grass area. Click here to view our map for more details and birding locations.

Birders and the public are welcome year-round for day-use of the ranch or overnight lodging. On-site dining is available in the King Dining Hall, click here for more details. Come and enjoy our outstanding facilities and the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country in an excellent birding location!

Birds of Mo-Ranch

Mo-Ranch has recently risen in the ranks of the popular birding website eBird, ranking 3rd in Kerr County as a Hill Country birding hotspot (ranking recorded in July of 2015).

We are home to many rare and sought after birds including the Golden-Cheeked Warbler, Painted Bunting, Black-Capped Vireo, Yellow Throated Warbler, and more!
