Rev. Jasiel Hernandez-Garcia

Rev. Jasiel Hernandez-Garcia is originally from the beautiful town of Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico. Orizaba is known for its known for its historic colonial buildings, coffee production, and comfortable weather all year long. He came to the United States to attend Presbyterian Pan American School in Kingsville, TX. He continued his education at Schreiner University (B.B.A in Marketing) and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (M.Div.), receiving the Charles L. King Preaching Award and the David L. Stitt Graduate Fellowship for academic excellence. Upon graduation, Jasiel served for two years (2018-2020) as a Lake Fellow Pastoral Resident at Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, IN. He began his ministry working in the areas of mission, pastoral care, and young adult ministries. His ministry continued at Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA, as Associate Pastor (2020-2022) and Acting Head of Staff (2023). Jasiel has been part of various national cohorts through the Montreat Conference Center and the Ministry Collaborative. He is currently an Associate Editor for the national publication Journal for Preachers. As Senior Pastor/Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church Kerrville, Jasiel provides visionary leadership for the church and broader community, leading the staff and working alongside the church Session to faithfully and courageously guide the congregation in the new post-pandemic world. Jasiel is known as a dynamic preacher, savvy conflict manager, thought-provoking teacher, and easy-going friend and colleague. Jasiel is married to Jessie Trawick Garcia, a gifted educator. She has taught German for the last eight years and has taken students abroad multiple times. They met in Austin after she completed her Masters at the University of Texas in Austin – Hook ‘em!

 

Meghan Burton

Meghan Burton is a life-long Presbyterian and a ruling elder who also volunteers with the youth group and runs a monthly faith discussion called Barrels, Brews, and Belief. She works in marketing and has a small crafting business on the side. She enjoys photography, woodworking, baking, arcades, movies, and the show The Rookie. Mo-Ranch is one of Meghan’s favorite places!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Libby James

Libby is super excited to direct JHJ this summer! Libby is married to Jesse and is a cat mom of Artemis, Apollo, and Orion. Libby attends Austin Seminary and is a licensed social worker. She loves playing board games, practicing yoga, and camping. Did you know Libby has been to Mo Ranch 17 times? Mo Ranch is where Libby first experienced a call to ministry (during vespers!). Libby’s favorite Mo Ranch event is the variety show!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beth Mueller

Beth Mueller serves Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin, TX as the Director of Worship Arts and the resident Enneagram Instructor. She is a regular conference leader for the (PC)USA leading music and worship or teaching the Enneagram. Beth lives in Wimberley, Tx with her pastor husband Rob, and near her ever-expanding family of children, grandchildren, animals and strays (both the human and animal variety). She loves camp, cookies, art, making music with friends, baking bread from scratch, and home improvement projects. 

 

 

 

Jack Clemans

Jack Clemans is a personal financial planner who works to help people build healthier, more values-aligned relationships with money. Jack studied Religion at Baylor University and originally planned to pursue missions, but felt drawn into personal finance as a way to help others steward their resources so they could support and sustain ministry work far beyond what he could do on his own. To equip himself for this calling, he earned his CFP®, ABFP®, and CRPC® designations, as well as a Master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning.

Jack has been attending the Men’s Conference at Mo-Ranch since 2019 and is excited to experience the Young Adult Retreat for the first time this year. He and his wife, Julie, live north of Dallas near family and enjoy reading, traveling, spending time with loved ones, and staying active in their church.

Hotel housing (two queen/full beds with a private bath):
$450 Single Occupancy
$350 Double Occupancy (come with a roommate or we can assign one)

$300 Group Housing
$200 Commuter Rate

If there are questions regarding your registration, a member of our team will contact you to confirm additional details such as housing requests (roommates), dietary needs, t-shirt sizes, etc. Otherwise, you’ll receive a “good to know prior to arrival” email two weeks prior to the retreat.

Cancellation

Full refund minus administrative fee up to $75 per person will be made if cancellation is received more than 30 days prior to the conference. There are generally no refunds for cancellations received on or after 30 days prior to the start of the event nor any applying of the amount paid toward other charges or future conferences.

Transportation

Mo-Ranch is 90 miles one-way, or a 2-hour drive from the nearest airport (SAT), allow 3 hours travel/check-in time for departures. We recommend generally scheduling arriving flights before 3 p.m. and departing flights after 3 p.m. to be sure you do not miss any of your event. If you are in need of shuttle service to Mo-Ranch, call Kars for Hire in Kerrville at (830) 890-8200 at least 15 days in advance to arrange transportation from San Antonio International Airport. Packing Suggestions

We encourage guests to dress comfortably during your stay.

  • Comfortable/casual clothes
  • Comfortable walking shoes (close-toed shoes recommended)
  • Flashlight (it is very dark here at night)
  • Bible
  • Journal
  • Toiletries
  • Sunblock, sunshades and hats
  • Rain jacket
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Beds are ready upon arrive; rooms do not have mini-fridges, microwaves, TVs or hair dryers, so please plan accordingly.
  • Towel are in rooms, and river towels are at the river and pool.

Trading Post Gift Shop

Make sure to stop by the Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Assembly gift shop during your weekend to pick out a souvenir!

General Notes

  • Hotel rooms are equipped with bed linens, bath towels. River and pool towels are available at those locations. 
  • Coffee is available 24/7 in the Mabee Registration Building.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided for guests.
  • There is no public consumption of alcohol at Mo-Ranch. You are welcome to enjoy your adult beverages in your rented spaces.
  • The front desk is staffed from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. daily (at the latest), and a manager on duty is available after these hours.
  • If you have an after-hours emergency, please call the Manager on Duty at 1.800.460.4401. You’ll be connected to a live answering service that will connect you to our Manager on Duty.
