Herpetology Explanation of TEKS Credits

Learn about the difference and similarities of reptiles and amphibians. Learn about their habits, adaptation, classifications and characteristics. Students will be able to look and touch live specimens.

The student is expected to explore how structures and functions enable organisms to survive in their environment.

The student is expected to differentiate between inherited traits of plants and animals such as spines on a cactus or shape of a beak and learned behaviors such as an animal learning tricks or a child riding a bicycle.

The student is expected to explore how short- and long-term environmental changes affect organisms and traits in subsequent populations.
