Want to take better pictures? Photoshop is great, but it cannot fix a bad image. We will spend time learning and working on making better images. We will focus on both the Art and the Craft of taking better pictures. We will discuss technical skills to help you gain better understanding of your camera and how to change the settings to get the outcomes you desire. We will work on composition with hands on assignments and projects that will allow you to explore your creative side.
Over the weekend we will focus on spending time working outside the classroom in a small group or one on one setting putting into practice the skills and techniques we will discuss. Finally after all that we will give a brief introduction into Photoshop Elements to help your photo stand out or fix any minor flaws.
The weekend begins with registration from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Dinner is served from 6:00-7:00p.m. The opening gathering will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The weekend will end with lunch on Sunday.
Tim Huchton is the instructor. Tim grew up in a family that loved snapping pictures. His father and grandmother were the influences that inspired him and his two younger brothers to pick up a camera and just shoot! Before long he was reading books, taking trips, and asking tons of questions hoping to become a better photographer. He is an avid cyclist and outdoor lover and loves to shoot pictures of landscapes, waterscapes, his two children, and just about anything else that grabs his attention. He is excited to be teaching this class and feels that Mo-Ranch is the perfect setting to explore and create! Many of the photos in his portfolio came while cutting his teeth here at Mo-Ranch.
Tim takes photos for enjoyment rather than prizes, he is excited to participate
in several weekly online photo contests and is a regular among the top images.
Together with his younger brother, they moderate and facilitate a monthly
themed photography challenge on Face Book. This group was created with the mind
set of learning and building a community of photographers, and has seen the
skills of the regular members grow in a short time period.
Tim has been lucky enough to turn his hobby of photography into an opportunity to earn a little extra money and buy new equipment. He sells his photography on several stock photo websites as well as his own website. You can see some of his work at www.timhuchtonphotography.com
