Come and join us for our fall painting retreat!
Mo-Ranch’s fall painting retreat is designed for artists of all skill levels who would like to spend a long weekend at Mo-Ranch, surrounded by a community of fellow artists. The primary painting medium will be pastels for this retreat, but oils, acrylics, watercolors and all other mediums are welcome.
Experienced artists, come and create in the beautiful setting of the Texas Hill Country.
Leisure artists or beginners, come and create while being guided through painting workshops by this year’s retreat leader, Juliana Crownover. Juliana is an award-winning painter who has been painting and teaching in pastels and oils for over 20 years. Classroom instructions may include an underpainting technique, mixed media techniques, brushwork and much more.
Learn how to capture the changing light through value, color and composition while painting landscapes and still life. Classes will be structured with enough direction to ensure success and enough freedom to allow for your full creative expression.

Juliana Crownover is an award-winning painter who has been painting in pastels and oils for over 20 years and teaching for 15 years. She has a BA from Austin College in biology, art and environmental studies. She is a member of the Southwest Pastel Society and Outdoor Painter Society. She describes her passion this way: “In my own art, I use light and color to bring out beauty in everyday life, whether that is a trail I have hiked 100 times, or my son hanging laundry on a line. In that way I use my art as a reminder of where to find beauty all around us, and to slow down in our daily lives so that we may see it. In my classes I strive to create a balance that allows enough freedom so that students can create their own art, and enough direction to ensure success. Aside from the end-goal of finished art, I think the process should be enjoyed and I work hard to create an environment that allows for that.” You can learn more about her art on her website: www.julianacrownover.com or her blog: www.paintandsimple.com
