The Rev. Kathy Anderson will join the Mo-Ranch staff as the chaplain and program director in January 2018. Kathy is a native Texan and spent her childhood and formative years in Victoria, TX. She grew up in the First Presbyterian Church of Victoria and first came to Mo-Ranch with the FPC youth group 35 years ago this January. In fact, her connection to Mo begins even before her conscious memory. Her grandparents, Glenn & Lucile Anderson (also of Victoria), were involved in the first early development years of Mo-Ranch. Her grandfather built some of the original sleds for the slide! They were longtime resident volunteers during the tenure of Otis Moore and always held Mo-Ranch in high regard—a value they passed along to their family and granddaughter.

Over the course of her ministry, Kathy has been a friend of and frequent visitor to Mo-Ranch, attending conferences, youth events, church retreats and presbytery meetings.

“Mo-Ranch has always been a formative place in my life and journey of faith. I can still remember sitting on the floor of the Main Auditorium as a 6th grader and walking across the catwalk for the first time. Having the opportunity now to serve at Mo in an official capacity is an incredible gift to me. I look forward to helping the ministry of Mo-Ranch move into the future, to carry on time held traditions and develop new and innovative ways to serve the church and equip the saints for ministry and service,” said Kathy.

Kathy brings 20 years of ordained ministry experience to her new role. A pastor at heart, she has served on the pastoral staff of Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, OH, and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Austin, TX. In addition to congregational ministry, Kathy also served in the mission field as a Young Adult Volunteer in Guatemala, and as part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Global Ministry national staff in Louisville, KY. For the past seven years, she has served as the executive director of John Knox Ranch, the camp and retreat center of Mission Presbytery.
