Phase one of renovations to Loma Linda’s upper-level bathrooms was completed in February 2019—just in time for the largest summer camp season in Mo’s history!

For campers and guests that have stayed in Loma Linda, an overwhelming complaint has been the outdated restroom and shower facilities. This year-round dormitory was originally constructed in 1943 by the ranch’s former owner, Daniel L. Moran, who built it for the use of Boy and Girl Scouts. The outdated restroom and shower facilities had been repaired and patched well beyond their expected lifetime and have been long overdue for a complete overhaul.

Because of you, our generous donors, Mo-Ranch is pleased to announce that the restroom and showers of Loma Linda’s upper-level have been completely remodeled for both child and adult safety and usability, all while keeping a historical look and feel.

The newly renovated upper-level restroom facilities are equipped with eco-friendly plumbing products such as low-flow Delta water faucets, Kohler toilets and showers, and the larger restrooms now offer a facility that is handicap accessible. Convenient guest usability features were added including an increased number of electrical outlets, and the countertops were upgraded to a high max eco-friendly recycled quartz and installed at an increased height for the use of both adults and youth.

“We are thrilled to see the updates made to make our campers feel even more at home,” said Richard Bombach, director of camps. “Our youth are the focus of our future. When we have campers that feel comfortable in their lodging space, they are more inclined to have a better camp experience outside, too.”

Phase two of Loma Linda’s lower level bathroom renovations are expected to be completed by spring 2020.

Many improvements and exciting changes are happening at Mo, and it’s all because of your generosity! If you haven’t visited the ranch recently, please come and see your gifts at work and how they are making a difference.
